How about an activity for “le jour du Souvenir” that will get your students working together? Well, this post is all about a collaborative French Remembrance Day poster your students will work on and love!
French Remembrance Day Poster
We can’t talk about Remembrance Day without talking about wars.
It can be more or less detailed depending on how old your students are, of course.
But that’s not where we should place our focus.
We should emphasize peace.
Ways to create peace.
Ways to maintain peace.
And there’s no way to achieve and keep peace without collaboration.
So why not have your students collaborating on a task about “le jour du Souvenir”?
To create this poster, each student will get a square and will color it according to the code.
After coloring all squares, students will assemble the poster and find out what the complete image looks like.
This poster is a little different from my previous collaborative posters because there’s one more step students should take after assembling the poster.
They’ll get a paper poppy flower to color and attach to the image.
Your students will cover the green field in the image with “des coquelicots”.
They’ll write their names on the paper flower along with the message: “Je me souviens”.
I’ve included a paper poppy flower template in the file, but you could use any other poppy flower paper crafts you prefer.
By working together, we can achieve peace.
That’s the message you’ll want your students to get from this activity.
This French Remembrance Day poster is available on my TpT store.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you and your students enjoy collaborating on this French Remembrance Day poster.
Merci!
Lucy 🙂
