French People Emergent Readers – FILLE, GARÇON, MÈRE,
The printable books on this page are all included in the French Emergent Reader Bundle.
French People Emergent Readers
There are 5 emergent readers related to people vocabulary so far: fille, garçon, bébé, mère, père.
These two fun little readers are great together because they follow exactly the same structure. There are five girls and five boys and a short sentence: “Ce garçon/Cette fille s’appelle (name).”
The sentence might sound simple, but it will allow your kids to understand the difference between ce and cette, practice the verb s’appeler, and the sight words fille and garçon.
They’ll be working a lot with the sight words and the text by coloring, writing, tracing, cutting and pasting.
You can check out the titles on TpT by clicking on the images or on the links below:
Emergent reader: fille
Emergent reader: garçon
This reader focuses on the sight word bébé with sentences about baby animals. It’s also great to introduce or review vocabulary for baby animals, e.g. chaton, chiot, etc.
The text is composed of questions and answers that follow the same structure in all pages:
– Est-ce que tu vois le bébé du chien?
– Oui, je vois le chiot.
Great reader for spring!

These readers focus on the sight word mère and père.
The printable books are great to practice vocabulary related to professions as well.
The recurring sentence is: “Ma mère/mon père est (profession).”
The professions in the text about mothers are: coiffeuse, bibliothécaire, dentiste, serveuse, médecin.
The professions in the text about fathers are: policier, pompier, vétérinaire, infirmier, facteur.
