In addition to Christmas, there are other holidays at the end of the year, like Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Even if you mostly teach about and around Christmas, it’s great to add more diversity in the holidays you celebrate with your students.
Kids love to color and you can get them working a lot on French phonics with this FREE sample set of color by code worksheets with a Hanukkah theme.
French Hanukkah Phonics Activity: Color by Code
In this set of “coloriage magique”, kids will have to pay attention to graphemes, i.e. the way sounds are represented in print, in order to color everything right and reveal the hidden image.
For example, in the image below, kids need to color words with “d” orange and words with “a” yellow.
Check out the picture below to see what I mean.
By following the code at the top of the page, your students will color the parts of the drawing to reveal the hidden image.
I’ve included the following graphemes in this free sample: an, in, on, or, oi, ou, ui, un, d, f, j, a, l, b, p, and t..
There are two worksheets that are perfect for independent centers and for sub plans. I’ve also included answer keys, so students can check their own work.
