French Halloween Vocabulary Puzzles

Puzzles are a fun way for your students to practice vocabulary.

They are also great for independent literacy centers, early finishers, and review.

The puzzles themselves are self-checking because one half can only match one other half.

That allows kids to make their own corrections instead of interrupting you while you’re conducting guided reading, or having a conference with another student.

You probably know how to turn a regular puzzle into a self-checking one by placing numbers in the back of each half so the numbers match, or using colored stickers.

But, with this set I’m sharing today, you won’t have to!

Self-checking, but with an answer recording sheet for accountability!

Don’t worry about students “cheating” and matching the puzzles by their shape without reading the words. To avoid that, I’ve also included an answer-recording sheet for accountability if you feel it’s needed.

Just have kids complete the sheet as they go about matching the puzzles, and then you can see their work!
