Well, Halloween is almost here and students love activities with monsters, candy corn, and all that. That doesn’t mean you can’t “squeeze in” some good old phonics practice into your Halloween-themed lesson plans. This set of French Halloween color by sound worksheets is hard work your kiddos won’t feel like they’re doing!

French Halloween Color by Sound
We’re talking about your kiddos learning and recognizing their graphemes, i.e. the way the sounds are represented in writing.
They color a sound and all the words containing that sound the same color.
For example, the r-blend fr is purple in the example below, so kids need to color the word “français” purple because it contains the sound “fr”.

By following the code at the top of the page, your students will color the parts of the drawing to reveal the hidden image.
I’ve included the following sounds in this free sample: eur, ou, tr, v, fr, an, in, on, l, oi, ch, cr.
There are two worksheets that are perfect for independent centers and for sub plans. By the way, there are also answer keys, so students can check their own work.
