Building collaboration in your classroom is an ongoing process. And if you’re looking for different ways to make your students work together, check out these French four language skills collaborative posters!
French Four Language Skills: Collaborative Posters
Do you want all your kiddos to feel like they’re part of something bigger, something they can only achieve if they work together?
Would you also like a visual reminder of what the four language skills are?
Well, that’s what these posters will do for you!
There are four posters in the bundle and each poster includes an “I can” sentence:
- First poster: Je peux écrire.
- Second poster: Je peux parler en français.
- Third poster: Je peux comprendre ce que j’entends.
- Fourth poster: Je peux lire (and alternative: Je peux comprendre ce que je lis).
Assembling the posters is a collaborative task.
What’s a collaborative poster?
A collaborative poster is one that has many parts (in this case, 30 squares) for students to color and then assemble together, like a jigsaw puzzle.
Why the coloring?
Coloring is a task that pretty much any student can accomplish.
They need to complete this individually.
So tell them that they should do their best to color their square.
By looking at their square alone, they can guess, but they won’t know what the complete image looks like.
What about the assembling?
Well, that’s probably the most fun part because kiddos will then see how their little square fits into the bigger picture.
They need to build the image by following the code at the bottom right of each square. For an extra challenge, you can have them cut out the code and try to solve the “puzzle”.
Talk to them about how the picture wouldn’t be complete if any of the squares were missing. Therefore, ALL squares are equally important.
And you can even differentiate the activity because some squares are simpler to color and some are more complex.
You can purchase each poster individually, but buy the bundle and get yourself the best deal!
