How can you add more practice to your morning routine?
The calendar routine is an essential staple in any elementary classroom, and it’s even more important for language learning because it gives kids a chance to use the language in a predictable and progressive manner.
In one way or another, you’re probably already using calendar cards if you have adopted the calendar routine.
However, these French December Calendar Cards are not your ordinary ones. They come with a twist!
French December Calendar Cards
In addition to the headers (month, days of the week, and “Joyeux Noël”), there are 31 cards, one for each day of the month.
On the back of each card, there is a task to be completed by students. For example:
- Écrire une phrase avec le mot “renne”
- Quelle est le double de “2”?
- Écrire une phrase avec le mot “lutin”
- Le mot “neuf” a deux sens. Quels sont-ils? (in the picture below)
Students can do the task of the day OR you can have them select a number after you have finished the calendar time.
The second option allows you to use up all the cards, even those days that are weekends or holidays.
There’s always something engaging about adding a twist to an old routine.
Try these cards out and watch your students start asking for more questions and practice 🙂
And you can find more tasks in the January set!
Thanks for stopping by!
