Have you ever dreamed of having a Pinterest-worthy classroom?
Yes!
Do you need to spend tons of color ink to make your classroom decor vision come true?
No!
Really?!
Yes, you can print everything in B&W and still make your classroom look cohesive and organized!
This post has information about and pictures of a beautiful set of French classroom decor MODERN CHEVRON that requires little to no color ink use!
French Classroom Decor MODERN CHEVRON
You CAN print out this entire French classroom decor MODERN CHEVRON in B&W if you’d like.
Some parts need to be printed in colored paper to work, but most of it can be printed on white paper.
I have included some items in color as well (as an alternative), so you get to choose if you want everything printed in B&W, or parts in color.
As you’ll see in the pictures below, you can also mix and match paper color.
Best of all: the text (in some items) can be edited so you get to use your own favorite expressions or required wording.

Alphabet Posters
With primary writing lines or not, in color or B&W – you choose the version that would work best in your classroom.
There are posters for each letter of the French alphabet, with two posters for the letters C and G (doux and dur).
Welcome / Letters Bunting
In the décor set, you will find a ready-to-print “Bienvenue!” poster (image below–printed on red paper).
There’s a “Bienvenue!” banner as well (not pictured).
I’ve included letters pennants too. You’ll be able to create an alphabet line with banner that display the small and capital letters in primary font.
You can also create celebratory/holiday banners all over the year by printing the single letter pennants. I’ve included all the letters of the alphabet (uppercase, lowercase, accented), punctuation and other symbols. In addition, you can use the letters to name places in your classroom or bulletin boards, e.g. “coin lecture” or a focus wall. You can even spell out new words and expressions (image below: “Merci!” and “Salut”).
IMPORTANT TIP: print the file 2 or 4 pages per sheet to end up with reduced versions of the banners and pennants. That way, you can, for example, place the “Bienvenue!” poster on the classroom door!
You can print the name tags (not pictured) and write in students’ names or you can use the editable file to type in their names.
Print the name tags on different colors, cut them up, and attach them to your classroom door, along with the welcome poster or banner.
This is a fun and bright-looking way to welcome your new French students!
Calendar Sets (Pocket Chart or Velcro)
This French classroom decor POLKA DOTS includes two version of a calendar: one for pocket charts and one to be used with velcro or magnetic tape (pictured below).
There are cards for the four seasons, in color and B&W.
Desk Name Plates / Tags
Desk name plates will help you in many ways, but the two most important are:
- they’ll help you memorize your students’ names
- they’ll help your students by giving them a clear reference of the alphabet letters, numbers 1-20, and basic directionality (gauche / droite). That should keep kids from asking you over and over again how to write numbers, or where left is.
These French desk name plates come in color and B&W. I’ve included editable files so you can type in students’ names.
Table Numbers
There are 12 circular table number cards (or “group”) AND an editable file so you can use the blank circular cards to create center signs or labels for your French classroom.
There are two cards per page, but you can print 2 pages per sheet (a printing option in most printers) to create the smaller cards you can see in the picture.
If you’ll be hanging the cards from the ceiling, be sure to print at least 2 cards for each table so that you can glue cards back to back with a piece of thread in between them.
Number Posters
Differently from most number posters around, this set includes numbers 0-31 because that will allow you to use the cards during your calendar routine!
Colors & 2D Shapes Posters
There are 11 color posters and 13 posters for 2D shapes.
Schedule Cards
There are cards with and without clocks. You can also choose between the ready-to-print cards and the editable (text) ones.
The good thing about the editable cards is that you can type in the subject names you use in your classroom. So, for instance, if you use “lire seul” instead of “lecture à soi”, all you need to to is use the editable file!
AND there are completely blank cards for you to add clipart for subjects/events that are not included.
Supply Labels
There are 16 French classroom supply labels, like the ones pictured below. They come in color and B&W, four labels per page.
If you’d like to use your own vocabulary (maybe you prefer “les post-its” to “les papillons adhésifs”?) or you’d like to include more supplies, there’s an editable file for you in the set!
Word Wall Headers / Cards
If you’ve ever caught yourself writing the same words again and again on the board because students don’t remember how to spell (or don’t remember the word at all!), or if you’d like kids to use the words you have already taught them, you NEED to start using a word wall!
Plan out the words you know you’ll be teaching this year and add them to the word wall as you introduce them.
When students ask you how to write or “What was that word you taught us last class?”, you can just teach them to look for it on the word wall.
The decor set includes more than 200 ready to print word cards and an editable file so you can type in the vocabulary that is specific to your classroom needs.
